Purchased brand new pilot in june 2011. Around noon I was driving down on stretch of road at about 60 MPH when I saw a vehicle with a trailer moving ahead of me. As I approached to pass the vehicle it appeared to slow down and started turning left ahead on the road. The trailer it was hauling did not have any signal or brake lights. I attempted to slowed by applying my brakes but the pilot did not stop after applying the brakes or slow down.
Wheel sensor wires on 2011 honda pilot are exposed and unprotected under the vehicle which when damaged, disable anti-lock braking system (ABS), vehicle stability assist (vsa), and the variable torque management (vtm-4) systems. Exposed wires are prone to be cut or damaged by road debris and hazards. Due to the wire being exposed, it was damaged and caused an out-of-pocket expense of approx. $266.00 to repair on a brand new vehicle with only 2,600 miles on it.
My 2011 honda pilot touring had to have all 3 engine mounts and the transmission mount replaced. The whole front end of the vehicle would shake uncontrollably on acceleration and especially at high speeds. I bought the vehicle brand new. I do a lot of highway driving and put a lot of miles on my vehicle. Currently I have 128,000 miles on my vehicle. I realize that a vehicle with a high number of miles will experience some wear tear, I never thought I'd have to replace mounts that hold my engine in place.
