Consumer was driving at approximately 40 to 45 MPH when a 1983 ford, f150 backed out into roadway in front of consumer's vehicle. Consumer had no opportunity to slow vehicle down before it impacted on other vehicle. Passenger's air bag had an on/off switch installed in it due to a child seat, and it was turned off during this incident. However, driver's air bag failed to deploy. Insurance company has examined vehicle, but has not provided any information to consumer about cause of defect.
On feburary 1, 2003, my daughter was driving a 2000 jeep wrangler at about 35 MPH on a slight up-grade. She left about 20' of straight skid prior to a rear-end collision. Slight deformation to the bumper, a small dent and broken turn signal lens on right fender. She was wearing the seat belt and shoulder strap, yet sustained a broken nose and broken cheek bone from hitting the steering wheel. No airbags deployed. The shoulder strap did not prevent forward motion.
