What owners wrote

Consumer purchased a 2000 jeep wrangler and was informed that brakes were new and in good condition. Upon putting vehicle in park parking brake did not hold and had to be adjusted. The consumer stated he was involved in an accident when he attempted to apply the brakes, but the vehicle didn't stop. The front pinion seal was replaced and the battery was replaced because it was leaking.

December 2005 CrashInjury

2000 jeep wrangler. The wiring to the A/C control switch shorts out and causes a minor fire. The switch has been replaced and it happened again. There was evidence of a previous fix in spliced wiring. The wiring harness is no longer available. Research on jeep related web sites has proven to me that this is not an isolated incidence and occurs in many of the surrounding model years. There is a design flaw in the three posts that connect to the selector switch, they are to close to each other.
