Tipm...truck was mobile at night in rain when it died and coasted to the shoulder of the road...dense obnoxious smoke poured from under the hood and into cab where my grandchild were adversely affected by it causing serious breathing problems and coughing. Vehicle was towed to dealership where a demand of 1500 bucks up front to even look at this truck.. Eventually I had wrecker bring it from dealership home where is sits on ramps in the back yard. Nothing has been done by chrysler to address these problems.
Takata inflators : my fiance was in a terrible accident with a hit and run and his truck is totaled. It was front impact and the air bags did not inflate or go off- his head hit the windshield and he had to go to the er for head injuries.
My son was driving on the freeway and went to change lanes and all of a sudden the power steering system stopped working and he told me after the fact that it locked up and he could not turn the steering wheel so he hit a guard rail and flipped the truck on its side. It caught on fire instantly and he was lucky to be able to get out. A passerby stopped while the truck was on fire and held the passenger door opened for him as he climbed out.
Trailer brake warning came on and it automatically shut off my cruise control. I just had the brakes redone a couple of months ago. This has happened before, and it usually after a recall for code updating is done. I was on a 4 lane highway doing 70MPH when this happened.
