Tl* the contact's son owned a 2015 ram 1500. The contact received a phone call regarding her son being involved in a crash. The contact was informed that her son may have overcorrected while driving, causing him to crash into a guardrail. The vehicle flipped over several times. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed; however, the contact was unable to receive the report to find out more details regarding the incident. The contact's son passed away as a result of the crash.
In this truck, which we are told was not covered in fca's recall, the rollover activated air curtain was not signaled to deploy in a very clear highway speed rollover, and the module download report shows the crash event and the 2 prior, identical data for each, and nonsense pre-crash data for things like such as the wheels not turning, 0 vehicle speed, 0 rpms. Re complaint 11352509 ---- cdr report from the module download is attached - it does not look like it was attached to the prior form I submitted.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ram 1500. The contact stated that the power steering warning indicator illuminated. Also, the power steering malfunctioned when the contact performed a cold start. The steering wheel was extremely difficult to turn, which also made driving difficult. The dealer diagnosed that the electric power steering unit needed to be replaced since it had an internal short. The manufacturer referred the contact to NHTSA. The contact had an extended warranty, but it did not cover the power steering.
After completing the approved emissions modification, per the fca-EPA lawsuit settlement, I've noticed substantial turbo lag and shifting issues (holding gear too long). This is particularly dangerous when pulling out onto streets or expressways where I need to accelerate up to speed quickly. There is a 3-5 second lag before the turbo begins spooling and my truck begins accelerating.
