I was at a complete stop behind a GMC yukon as we waited for traffic to move, I lightly tapped the gas petal as our vehicles began to move & my 2010 toyota corolla le lunged forward as if I pressed full force (which I did not) slamming into the yukon. The air bags did not deploy either.
I have a 2010 toyota corolla. When I am driving on the highway and reach speeds of over 40 MPH it is very hard to keep the car in a straight line or in the proper driving lane. The car begins to sway as if it is being buffeted by hard winds. Often it takes two hands on the steering wheel to get control of the car's swaying motion and just when you think you've got it corrected, it sways again and can easily overcorrect itself.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 toyota corolla. The contact stated that while driving 30 MPH, the vehicle decelerated independently and jerked forward. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer three times and the contact was informed that the torque converter was seizing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and sent an engineer to examine the vehicle. The engineer advised that the vehicle was operating as designed. The failure mileage was 9,258.
