What owners wrote
A few complaints as filed, shortened and with personal details removed. The first ones are among the most serious reports for this model year; the rest are typical.
Faulty bearings on camshaft failing causing inadequate oil pressure resulting in "limp mode", subsequently leading to engine failure and illumination of stabilitrak, ABS and parking assist icons. "limp mode" cuts engine off and driver loses ability to control the vehicle, 1 fatality and 3 injuries have resulted because of this.
The vehicle in question is a 2007 cadillac escalade esv. This vehicle has been in the shop 26 times in 10 months for multiple electrical problems and has had numerous replacement parts installed. The vehicle has had electrical problems causing engine failure while driving, navigation failure while driving, motorized gas and brake pedal movement while driving, fuel tank electrical issues, all of which has created unsafe situations for my wife and children riding in the vehicle.
Takata recall. It's been 2 years since the recall notification and no solution has been obtained. I've exhausted all efforts to resolve this dangerous recall. In 2016 & 2017 I attempted to trade in my vehicle at the cadillac dealers. According to the cadillac sales person, they are not taking any trade in with that recall and if they did it would be at a considerable value reduction. Basically giving the vehicle away. I'm forced to keep this dangerous car and it's bad workmanship.
