I have a 2001 chevrolet express conversion van that has been nothing but grief since I bought it. It has already gone through 3 sets of brakes we have complained since day one about the braking problems with the van. My husband had an accident due to brake failure on the way to the dealership when he first bought the van.
This van was 4 months old, parked for 2 days and caught fire and completely burned, fire investigator beleives cause to be electrical short under dash on passenger side.
While parked a fire erupted and flames came from between the dashdoard and windshield. The complainant has a fleet of 50 delivery vans, including thirty-nine chevrolet vans, seven of which are the same make, model and year as the one that caught on fire.
When applying the brakes, the pedal would go to the floor and cause an extended stopping distance before the vehicle came to a complete stop. Dealer notified. Mr the dealer repaired the vehicle twice. The rear axle seals leaked fluid onto the brakes and shoes.
While driving at 35 MPH engine check light came on, and vehicle sputtered. Moments later vehicle stalled. This problem happened twice. Dealer blamed the problem on moisture in the distributor.
