What owners wrote
A few complaints as filed, shortened and with personal details removed. The first ones are among the most serious reports for this model year; the rest are typical.
I was involved in an accident in my 2005 ford excursion and the airbags did not deploy. A minivan pulled out from a stop sign and I hit her in the side. All of the van's airbags deployed but mine did not.
During a single vehicle accident due to losing control at, according to the police report, 65 MPH and running front-end first in to a rocky mountain bank then bouncing off said bank rotating the vehicle, again according to the accident report, roughly 120-degrees the factory airbag failed to deploy. Even with the seatbelt on my chest, sternum and ribs still managed to either be injured by the seatbelt (no visible seatbelt marks or trauma) or by impacting the steering wheel.
Tl* the contact owns 2005 ford excursion diesel. The contact stated that while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle began smoking and stalled. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle but to no avail. The vehicle was taken into a local repair shop and diagnosed as a faulty engine. The vehicle was repaired. In addition, the contact stated that every time the heater or air conditioner was activated, fumes would emit into the vehicle. The failure mileage was 176,000 and the current mileage was 179,000.
My vehicle randomly experiences engine stalls while driving. It has stalled while traveling up to 40 MPH in traffic. When it stalls I lose power brakes and steering. I've had the vehicle at the dealer off and on for approximately two months and they are unable to fix the problem.
Driving and then suddenly the 2005 ford excursion begins to stall, parked the ford, and than the engine would not start, stalled while I was driving on the freeway.
