What owners wrote

In september of 1998 my 1992 f-150 caught fire for no apparent reason. I was out driving, when I got to my destination I parked. A few hours later my truck was on fire. I did not here about a recall on the fuel system untill a week ago. I am sending this to you in case there is some relation between the fire and the recall. Any information you can send back would be greatly appreciatted.

Tl*the contact owns a 1992 ford f150. While the engine was idling, fuel began to leak onto the ground. The dealer stated that the check valve failed and caused fuel to leak from the rear tank into the front tank. The manufacturer stated that the VIN was included in NHTSA campaign id number 93v125000 (fuel system, gasoline:storage:tank assembly); however, they would not authorize the repair due to the age of the vehicle. The current and failure mileages were 113,000. Updated 01/07/08. Updated 12/31/07
