This is about a fuel tank delivery and air induction bulletin, cross tank fuel flow problem my ford f250 truck is having. I have notified my local dealership and ford customer service, they both say there is no recall for this vehicle. But I found a NHTSA campaign # 93v12500 describing exactly what has been happening for the last 6 months. It needs to be fixed and is expensive, but I can't get any satisfaction from ford, I'm hoping you can help. Updated 04/15/10.
Tl* the contact owns a 1993 ford f-250. While the contact was fueling the vehicle, the fuel cap shrank and fuel spewed from the fuel tank. The failure occurred whenever he attempted to fuel the front tank first. As the fuel traveled to the rear tank, it spewed out. The contact stated that the failure was a fire hazard. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 250,000.
