While traveling in the left hand lane of a 4 lane divided highway we noticed the vehicle in front of us was not moving. We were going approximately 58 MPH. We could not move to the right lane due to vehicles entering that lane from an on ramp. We were about 100 yards away when we realized the vehicle in front of us was not moving. We immediately slammed on the brakes. The truck did not stop. We had a very severe collision. We slammed into the rear of the vehicle in front of us.
The seatbelts and airbags did not engage when vehicle was involved in serious accident. Seatbelts we’re on but did not lock up and airbags never deployed. Vehicle is in a body shop in Mexico. Serious spinal and hip injury made worse due to these components mail functioning. Vehicle is still in Mexico while insurance company drags their feet so they don’t have to pay. Vehicle has only been towed and not examined while it just sits there waiting for insurance company to do something.
