What owners wrote

I drove my f-150 eccoboost truck to the snow, same area I have been hundreds of times and suddenly smoke burst from the engine, then flames shot out around the hood, popped the hood and fought the fire for half an hour, it kept restating. It stranded myself and children, and we had a harrowing experience that was pretty dicey. Ford had just put in a new engine, at my cost, +14,000.00, after the timing chain failed.

While driving down the interstate at 70 MPH. Truck died completely, dash flashed "put into park" my 15 year old son was driving and has sence to put it in neutral instead. He manuvered to the shoulder from the inside lane. The truck interior lights come on, but nothing else. No power to anything when key is inserted. We are lucky we weren't killled. This happened last saturday january, 27 2018. Road conditions were dry and it was around 50 degrees. 65,000 miles on truck. 2014 f150 eco- boost 3.5
