Started car, drove less than a mile down the road and got a big cloud of smoke inside the car. Pulled over and made it to the passenger side where the back panel was already bubbling with fire. Called 911 but the car was completely engulfed in flames within minutes. Still don't know what caused the fire just glad I got out alive.
While driving, started to slow down, weather rainy, rearended another vehicle, the brakes failed to catch, traveling at 45 MPH, air bag did not deploy.
Recently my car started overheating without warning. I replaced the thermostat. It was good for two weeks then on a five minute drive down the street it overheated again. I took it to the dealership and was told the head gaskets were blown and it would cost me $1,600.00 I called ford customer service and was told that the recall had expired in may of 2001. I bought the car in nov. 2001 only has 85,000 miles on it.
