What owners wrote
A few complaints as filed, shortened and with personal details removed. The first ones are among the most serious reports for this model year; the rest are typical.
I got into a wreck with a vehicle that past a stop sign hitting me at 120MPH. The airbag in the drivers seat exploded immediately. I had my mustang service in galveston ford dealership for my airbags within a year. Luckily I pushed my seat back to avoid major injuries to my face. Airbag has been replaced
Tl*the contact owns a 2010 ford mustang. The contact was driving approximately 2 MPH proceeding to make a left turn when an opposing vehicle crashed into the front driver side door. The contacts head struck the front driver side window which resulted in cuts to the head and eye brow area. The air bag system failed to deploy with the impact. A police report was filed for the incident and the vehicle was completely destroyed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The current and failure mileages were 80.
Was pulling into parking spot at church and the car surged forward and hit a concrete wall. Foot was on the brake pedal coming to a stop; was going slowly when the car suddenly lunged forward. The bumper and hood were damaged and will need to be replaced. Took to ford dealership to run diagnostic, but they said all codes were "within specs". This was the first experience with surge. Neck a little stiff and son hurt elbow (but is ok). Now will have car body repaired and hope this doesn't happen again. Scary.
I was on interstate 59 north. I pressed the brakes, they were locked up. Car began to accelerate on its own. Neither would function. Before attempting to engage the emergency brake, I put the car into neutral, attempting to slow it and distance myself from any traffic that was nearby. Once I put it in neutral, it began to slow, accelerator and brakes unlocked, allowing me to come to a stop on the side of the road. Called ford, they've towed it to a local dealership.
Tl* takata recall. The contact owns a 2010 ford mustang. The contact stated that the air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was serviced per NHTSA campaign number: 15v319000 (air bags), but the remedy failed to repair the vehicle. The contact mentioned that the air bag warning indicator remained illuminated after the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,000.
