Dt: the airbags did not deploy during an automobile accident. They deployed after impacting, and consumer hit the steering wheel. The impact was on the front end of the car. The accident had been over for 6 seconds before the airbags deployed. Then the airbag deployed and threw the consumer backwards. This was the driver's airbag that was late in deployment, but passenger's air bag caught on fire.
Engine failure caused by no compression in 2 cylinders. Vehicle is a 2000 taraus with 71,000 mile 3.0 liter engine. Dealer says I need a new engine. Ford district service manager unwilling to offer any financial assistance towards the repair. A car should not need a new engine at 71,000 miles. I have properly maintained this car.
Consumer was stopping at a red light and another vehicle hit it head-on. Upon impact, front airbag didn't deploy. Consumer was injured. Dealer consulted owner's manual to find specifications on how airbag deployed. Four people were injured in accident. *slc
While driving 50 MPH consumer heard a loud noise. Consumer pulled over to the side to examine the vehicle. Consumer nearly lost control of the vehicle because the right (passenger) front dropped dangerously low. Consumer determined that the right tire blew out, and the coil spring broke. The broken end of the spring went in the inside of the sidewall, which damaged the tire. Also, vehicle was running on a smooth road when incident occurred.
Complaint received via e-mail. 2000 ,ford, taurus sel shut down while driving in high speed traffic. It has been to the local ford dealership twice regarding the issue. Today after the third occurrence the service technician suggested that I use a different ignition key while operating the vehicle - I do not accept this as a viable solution to the trouble. When the engine dies while in traffic power steering/power brakes, and directional signals are lost. The car is a menace to the driving public.
