The brakes failed as my son approached an intersection. Subsequently, he struck another vehicle broadside. Extensive damage was sustained to both vehicles. The driver reported that he pressed the brake pedal, but the truck would not stop. After I investigated further for an explanantion,I discovered that there was a recall on his brake system that might explain brake failure. The crash occurred on a city street.

As a result, the contact crashed into a concrete post and the air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained left hand injuries that did not require medical attention. The bulbs in the tail lights corrode in place due to excess road grime (salt, sand, etc.) being splashed up on them. This causes them to burn out prematurely and removal is impossible due to the corrosion of the bulb into the socket. This results in having to replace the entire wiring harness. According to my local GMC dealership (west herr), this is a common problem that GM isn't covering. So, I had to pay for a new wiring harness out of pocket in order to replace one of the tail light bulbs.
