My dad has died from injuries sustained from a car accident, he told me his car 2006 honda civic accelerated on its own! The car accelerated at high RPM when he just went to accelerate. To enter the road making a left, instead the car went so fast within seconds, he lost control and his honda plowed threw a stop sign, then was finally stopped by a steel pole holding up a quick check sign! He sustained extensive chest injuries! 3 broken ribs, 2 dropped lungs, fractured sternum, fractured c4 and c7 spine injuries!
Received a phone call from granddaughter on her way home to pick me up. She stated she was not speeding and 2 or 3 minutes later her honda civic was involved in a high speed single vehicle crash which killed both driver and passenger.
I purchased a new 2006 honda civic LX on 3/18/06. On 8/31/06 after 15,658 highway miles, the driver's side inner front brake pad wore out and ruined the rotor. I replaced the rotor, pad, and caliper with original honda parts. My daughter has complained that this car's braking is "unstable". Now at 34,000 miles the front inner pads are worn to metal again. The outer pads and rear shoes are still very serviceable. I called the dealer and honda and they both fail to admit a problem or offer a solution.
1. I own a 2006 honda civic hybrid which has had its tires replaced at least 3 times due to uneven wear. 2. The first event occurred when the tire itself just exploded because the inner walls of the tire were so thin and worn only after 10k miles?? This continued at 15k and again at 20k and now again. The dealership replaced it once but now is refusing to do anything about it. 3. The first time it occurred a local honda dealer auto repair dept.
