I was involved in an accident with with my family. Pregnant wife and daughter. I got into a front end collision and I was at fault. The forward collision warning didn’t activate, Neither did the automatic emergency braking. This system has never failed on me and car has always stopped every time..
1. ) fuel efficiency is not as reported; it is several mpgs lower under all conditions (highway/city). 2.) safety sensor to alert for pedestrians on sides/front do not work properly. Even service rep at dealership said she has had other reports of it not functioning properly and the sensors/system may need to be 'reset'. It is incredibly dangerous to think these systems can fail without any warning message or notice.
