Owner of both a 2017 duramax and a tahoe from new. Duramax had just turned 21,000 miles this winter. Returned from fishing sunday night and plugged the truck into a heavy guage extension cord. My family and I were woken at 3am early january to a vehicle alarm. Turns out the truck had started fire. Luckly the alarm was audible long enough to wake us. By the time I had reached the keys, it had stopped. A peek out the window showed a culprit I hadn't anticipated.

II took my 2017 1500 silverado I purchased 11/2020 that had about 9500 miles to the chevy service center and stated while driving my vehicle when coming to a stop during the 2-1 downshifting of the transmission a very loud clunking noise and at the same time it feels like something hit the rear of the vehicle. Upon starting from a stop sign or stop light the 1-2 shifting of the transmission makes the same loud clucking noise and it feels like something hit the vehicle was in the rear again.
