My firm represents several passengers and the personal representatives of the estates of two decedent who were killed when a 2005 dodge durango lost steering control on the florida turnpike. The vehicle is a rental vehicle from dollar rental car. It may be a case where the bolts in the steering were missing, but is yet to be determined. He has placed a "legal hold" on this vehicle and he is aware of the location of the vehicle. The vehicle number is 8136354.
My mothers 2005 durango flipped 7 times in champaign co. Ohio. It killed her. The durango folded in like a pop can. And her seat belts failed. She always wore them. However the report said she did not have them on. I know she did the mark across her body at the corners showed it was on! And not 1 air bag deployed not 1. She lost controll of the vehicle and it began flipping 7 times. Hate durangos there not safe and it is the reason my mom didnt stand a chance at living threw the accident.
My 2005 dodge durango stalls at low speeds. Sometimes it happens during idle and other times it happens when I slow down to turn. It has happened the entire life of the car and no dealership has been able to diagnose or fix the problem.
I own a 2005 dodge durango. Whenever the vehicle runs through a moderately sized rain puddle and water is sprayed up under the car the power steering fails but returns to service a short time after. This has happened repeatedly and the dealer has been called and they acknowledge the problem but say nothing can be done about it. It is truly a safety issue. I have experienced this along with my wife and sons. I live in tampa, fl and rainfall is quite routine (approx 52 inches/yr) and puddles cannot be avoided.
