The contact owned a 2015 Ford F-250. The contact stated their husband was driving at 70 mph, the vehicle was in cruise control and the driver attempted to get out of cruise control by depressing on the brakes, however, the cruise control did not disengage and the vehicle began to accelerate. The driver attempted to manually turn off the cruise control from the steering wheel but it failed and continued to accelerate.
Front positioned airbags did not deploy during front end collision. Substantial damage incurred to front of vehicle - given the force of the impact, air bags should have deployed. Vehicle has in motion on a state highway. I was traveling approximately 55 MPH before seeing a stopped vehicle in the roadway. Very little time to apply brake before impact.
Upon starting the truck and entering the road, there seemed to be an odor of gasoline. As I proceeded down the road it seemed as though the miles to empty computer number was falling faster than the distance traveled. At approx. A mile and a quarter to half I stopped at a stop sign to check on the odor. Putting the truck in park, I started to open the door. As I started to open the door, fire erupted from both sides of the hood, in a single large ignition. As soon as the fire started the truck died instantly.
While driving down the highway at 75 miles an hour I passed over a bridge and my ford truck started shaking violently. I had to slow down to get it under control. This has continued to happen while driving at any speed when passing over bumps going over bridges etc. The only way to stop the shaking is to quickly slow down endangering me and everyone else. This violent shaking happens every time we drive the truck.
