Tl* the contact owns a 2006 ford f-250 sd. The contact was driving 20 -30 MPH on a wet surface. The brakes were applied lightly and the vehicle hydro-planed and crashed into a tree. The air bags did not deploy and the contacted was thrown into the rear of the vehicle with the seat belt restrained across him. He suffered injuries to his entire body and was taken to the hospital. The police were called and a report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed and the insurance company was notified.
We were driving in a parking lot at a slow rate of speed when the steering let loose and we had no control of the truck. The truck crashed into a pole in the lot, and was unable to be moved due to loss of steering. It had to be towed away. Had this been a parking lot with cars and or people there would have been serious consequences. The impact from hitting the pole, caused my wife's neck to snap back and she has some strain in her neck.
My 2006 f-250 shakes violently when hitting a pot hole this occurs about once every couple of weeks. I have to come to a complete stop for the vehicle to quit shaking I have almost been rearended several times and I have been in the lane on oncoming traffic with my 2-month old in the vehicle because I can not control the vehicle when this occurs.
My tires sidewalls are completely coming apart with deep cracks in sidewalls. The tires are not very old,the pick-up isn't used for hauling heavy loads and has not been stored in hot areas..the tires have been rotated regularly and have been inspected by a tire place that has said that the truck is not safe to drive. The consequences of these tires coming apart obviously would result in a major accident which could result in death.
The cruise control will not disengage at times when hitting the brake, causing the vehicle to continue to accelerate when a stop or slow down is required. I reported this to the dealer at approx 38,000 miles and was informed it was not are call defect. I know this has been an issue on earlier ford trucks. This is a repetitive issue.
