What owners wrote
A few complaints as filed, shortened and with personal details removed. The first ones are among the most serious reports for this model year; the rest are typical.
Automobile impacted telephone pole on right front quadrant. The continued travel of the vehicle up small embankment caused the vehicle to roll and flip. The driver's side impact airbag did not deploy resulting in head injury to driver.
I waited at the light until it turned green light/green arrow and proceeded to turn left. Another driver ran that red light and struck me on the driver side front left wheel area. Neither airbags deployed! Not the side or front airbag!!! I sustained multiple injuries including fractured clavicle and bruised shoulder, neck, and side. And large bump on back of my head. No airbags deployed!!!!! I'm starting an investigation ...
On june 17, 2011 my daughter was driving my car and I was the passenger, we had stopped at a four way stop. When we had the right away we proceeded across the intersection. We were struck in the intersection by a driver who ran the stop sign. She was traveling around 30 to 35MPH and struck the passenger side of my car, smashing in the front passenger side door, also the front support where the window shield is attached.
The brakes go spongy after hitting a simple pothole. You have to push your foot to the floor and be sure you have room to stop and not hit anything. If you had a sudden stop, it would take way longer to stop. There is over 160 complaints on this on same year of fusion. That says enough to me. Some people said it was a defective brake control unit. Defective means there should be a recall. The air bags are still an issue as well. Please help with a recall!!!
My daughter drives this vehicle to get to work and she has experience a low brake pedal for nearly 2 years. The pedal is now so low that it is frightening to drive the car. The low pedal (almost to the floor) occurs at all times when braking. In january we received a recall notice from ford (ford recall number 19s54, NHTSA recall number 19v-904) notifying us of this problem and explained that ford would be providing work instructions and parts to the dealership by the end of the 1q2020.
