As of last thursday, the power steering system had been functioning intermittently. As of yesterday it no longer functions at all. At first, the information display would show "power steering system fault" and the power assist would be gone. So I would restart the car and all would be fine. Well yesterday it required 4 restarts before the power assist would work. Then on my last time using the car yesterday it went out completely, no matter how many restarts the system shows that message and has no power assist.
I was driving this car on a city street when the 'service power steering now' light came on. I couldn't turn the wheel so I took it to precision tune and they reset it but told me that they see this make/model of car with the same power steering issue a lot and that if it happened again that I would have to take it to the dealership. That was monday it is now thursday and the same 'service power steering' light came on again! I'm told that the entire power steering system has to be replaced for 1800+
