My sister was killed in a fire caused by a 2000 volkswagen jetta. She fell asleep with the car on. The car caught on fire and she was killed. The investigated are saying it was a failure of the exhaust system.
(1) very loud bang on the driver side door (2) front driver-side window fell directly into the door panel (3) small plastic clip has to be replaced, at the same time dealer tryes to change a whole power windows assembly for $500.
Consumer was traveling 30-35MPH a second party ran the light & damaged driver side of vehicle. Airbags didn't deploy, 4 people injured in accident, vehicle was totalled. *slc
Transmission failed. The dealer replaced the part. However, two weeks later the part failed again. The vehicle would not go into reverse. The transmission slipped and the vehicle had run into a pole at a gas station on the right front side. This problem remained the same. The engine light had come on along with the transmission problems.
2000 VW jetta - same exact problem as with the 2000 VW golf fuel system. Car suddenly stopped running and wouldn't start. Car was leaking a significant amount of gas. I had already replaced the fuel pump last year (2004) and this time had to replace the entire fuel line. I was told it was a very dangerous situation by the dealer because it could've caused a fire or explosion. Dealer used new parts to replace fuel line.
