What owners wrote
Rear liftgate support assembly separates from ligtgate when in open extended position, leaving only one strut intact, causing hatch to fall/injury.
Our 1995 ford explorer was parked on the side of our garage, well off a quiet street. When we came out in the morning to go to work we discovered that the back liftgate window exploded. Thankfully, this happened when it was parked. It would have potentially caused a major accident if we had been driving alone or with our children or friends. As we had talked with neighbors and called to get estimates we heard about this happening four times to other people.
