Both the driver and passenger captain chairs have arm rest that can release the seat belts. The passenger loaded the arm rest on the p-side which pressed the red release button causing the occupant to be ejected from the vehicle. The driver's side did not unlatch but was killed when the driver side door opened. Cw the vehicle rolled over and the arm rest released the seat belts.
In a 45 mile an hour roll over in a ford f150 my son as a passenger wearing his seat belt was ejected from the vehicle causing great bodily harm. The seat assembly broke loose from the floor frame, seat belt broke and he was along with the driver ejected through the passenger door which opened during the roll over. After ejection of the passengers the truck traveled over a small bank into a stream bed and exploded into fire.
My 1999 ford f150 truck was sitting in my driveway and had not been driven for over two days. The ECU module shorted out and started to burn large amount of smoke billowed out from under the hood of truck. Truck was repaired with a used part since ford no longer manufactures the ECU module.
