2005 chevrolet silverado3500, was traveling eastbound when her left rear dually wheels fell off. The wheel traveled across the highway into the westbound lanes when it was struck by another vehicle. Bf according to the police report, the right rear studs broke off. The driver of the other vehicle sustained bruising to her wrist. (ohio traffic crash report # 10-0390-89) updated 01/12/11 according to the repair invoice, the lug nuts were not properly torqued. Updated voq 04/15/11
I believe my 2005 chevrolet silverado 3500, duramax/allison was equiped with under designed cooling systems; both transmission and engine. On slow mountain type roads I can run my unloaded truck into near overheat conditions. I believe these issues may be common to other '04.5 and '05 lly GM and chevrolet trucks like mine and GM has not provided it's dealer network with solutions to remedy the problem (most of them are simple, that the other 2 majors seem to understand: air flow control throught the cooling stack…
The 'service air bag' started to be displayed frequently beginning early september 2009 on my 2005 chevrolet 3500. I notified my local dealer on sept 10, 2009 and the vehicle was serviced on september 11. The diagnose was a faulty 'frontal sensor'. On october 31, 2009 the 'service brake system' displayed and the ABS light would not go out on the same vehicle. This was accompanied along with an annoying repeating beep sound. I contacted my local dealer again and informed of the problem.
Engine misfires and is downgraded to 25 MPH on highway. Engine knocks and rattles. Problem is a known failure on a good share of 2004.5 through 2005 duramax diesel trucks where #2 and #7 fuel injector harness fails. Mfg know this is a problem and will not fix the truck until the problem has surfaced. This problem could result in rear end collision on highway. They do not honor the warranty which states 5yrs.,100,000 miles. Cost $504 my cost. I have a complaint lodged with the better business bureau of ct.
