2009 chevrolet impala. Consumer writes in regards to unrepaired recalls which resulted in a fatal accident. The consumer stated the vehicle was traveling at high speeds. The dips in the road, the high speed, the loading/unloading and of the suspension contributed to the loss of control of the vehicle.
Tl*the contact rented a 2009 chevrolet impala. While driving approximately 45 MPH another vehicle crashed into her and none of the air bags deployed. The seat belts also did not securely hold any of the passengers. The police appeared on the scene and 4 major injuries were reported. All 4 passengers were taken to the hospital to have their injuries treated. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to an independent repair shop. She was not sure if the vehicle was ever examined for the cause of failure.
On my commute to work on the interstate my impala shut itself off. I was in the left lane when the car showed the reduced engine power on the information panel, it then fully disengaged all engine power and powersteering. Being in the outside lane I had to maneuver my impala through the heavy traffic and almost caused numerous accidents trying to squeeze to the shoulder. I then coasted off into the grass almost into a large ditch but I slammed on the brakes hard and went into a skid coming to a full stop.
While driving the check engine light and traction control light comes on and reduce engine power reads across the screen. Car slows to 45 miles an hour and turns off. I have had the throttle replaced and the throttle body replaced. The problem still on going....?
