January 2015 CrashDeath

I had just turned right at a traffic light, driving slowly forward in a construction area, when my accelerator suddenly stuck. Within a few seconds my car hit the vehicle in front of me at an accelerated speed, causing a chain reaction with 2 additional cars. My car was totaled and I believe the one I hit directly was too...I was ticketed for careless driving even though I told the police what had happened...a year later I have heard several reports about my vehicle, a 2000 jeep grand cherokee, having this…

May 2005 CrashInjury

My mom bought a jeep grand cherokee, 2000. On july 25 we went into town to the hardware store, my sister and her granddaughter stayed in the car with the air condidtion on and the engine running. We were (mom and I) gone 7-8 minutes, and when we got back in the car; put the seat belts on, put my foot on the brake and put the jeep in reverse and we took off backwards across the naylors parking lot across third street, up and over the curb, went between two trees into the parking lot between the fire station and…

July 2003 CrashInjury

Vehicle first started vibrating when braking in 2000. Took it in to the dealership and the replaced the rotors. Since then I have had it in about every 6 to 8 months for the same repairs. When I take it in tomorrow it will be the 6th time. This time they are claiming that warranty no longer covers it. With this many complaints regarding the brakes, why hasn't there been a recall to fix it properly?

Reported at 33,000 miles, December 2004

Vehicle stalls after reaching operating temperature while negotiating traffic or driving, regardless of conditions or driving habits, at highway speeds or in a parking lot. Has stalled numerous times at worst possible times. No codes. No warning: in traffic. At stop lights. Pulling into gas stations. Etc... Extremely dangerous!!!!! Date submitted is the last time it happened. It has happened at least 10 times just this year. Looked on many jeep forums and seems to be a recurring problem!!! (see for yourself).
