On 3/27/14, my brand new 2014 jeep grand cherokee spontaneously burst into flames and almost got in my face. After smelling and seeing smoke, I pulled over into a dirt parking lot at a business and the dashboard of my new vehicle burst into flames, after I heard a "woosh." a lady from the local business came running out of the business with a fire extinguisher and I was able to shoot it into the holes that were once the heat vents to kill the flames.
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 jeep grand cherokee. The contact stated that while driving approximately 59 MPH, the contact crashed into a guard rail. The vehicle went airborne and landed in a ditch of water. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained an injured back, the front passenger had to get stitches from the impact of the window glass, and the rear seat passenger had water in the lungs and contusions to his head, which all required medical attention. The vehicle was destroyed.
Vehicle accelerated suddenly, unintentionally, and disproportionately to throttle position, resulting in a head-on crash into a wooden fence. Vehicle and fence were both damaged.
Seat belt fails to retract rendering it useless. The plastic cover on the loop at the b pillar has cracked and binds on the seat belt strap. The part is not replaceable without replacing the entire assembly. This has affected both front seat belts. The vehicle has not been in any accidents or incidents which have stressed the seat belts.
